- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and logic diagrams
- Set up and operate electrical test equipment
- Document test results and report non-conformances
- Support troubleshooting
- Follow strict nuclear quality, safety, and procedural requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Electrical, instrumentation, controls, or nuclear background (military or commercial)
- Experience troubleshooting electrical or control systems
- Experience with relays, control systems, or instrumentation preferred
- Ability to read schematics and follow detailed procedures
- Strong attention to detail and process-driven mindset
- Experience with legacy/obsolete systems is a plus
- U.S. Navy Nuclear (ETN, EMN, or similar) experience highly desired
Work Environment
- 100% on-site, 5 days/week in a laboratory/testing environment
- Highly hands-on technical role (not a desk job)
- Work alongside engineering teams on critical nuclear equipment
- Industrial/lab setting with electrical systems and testing equipment
Join a team that recognizes, respects, and values the service you’ve given to our country.

Engineers in this role will also have the rare opportunity to work on both groundbreaking new builds and the historic efforts to restart nuclear plants once thought to be permanently closed. This is a true game-changing engineering opportunity one where you’ll one day look back at your career and say: “Wow, we did some amazing work.”
This position requires engineers who can operate with a high level of technical detail, precision, and autonomy while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and regulatory bodies. It’s an opportunity to take ownership of meaningful work in a field where accuracy and safety are paramount.
Major Duties / Responsibilities
Apply engineering principles, techniques and practices in the preparation and/or review of engineering work products for existing power plants as well as new plants
Use of the Standard Design Process (SDP) to develop modification packages, P&ID's, isometric drawings, create pipe stress analysis models, prepare piping & engineering specifications in accordance with code requirements
Perform review of complex calculations, design deliverables, and lead small to medium projects or serve as technical lead on complex projects.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
5+ years of relevant mechanical design & pipe stress analysis experience
Knowledge of mechanical & nuclear codes, standards, and regulations that apply to the design of nuclear power plants (ME101, ASME, B31.1)
Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
Hands-on experience with Pipe Stress Analysis software and/or analysis techniques (AutoPIPE & SuperPipe)
Proven ability to deliver work with a high degree of accuracy, detail, and independence
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future
About the Benefits
Direct hire, in-house position with a top nuclear energy company
Full compensation & benefits including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and paid time off
Flexible remote options, with occasional site visits as needed (less than 5%).
Exposure to diverse projects across the U.S. nuclear fleet — gain experience supporting multiple utilities and working with both PWR and BWR reactor types
Opportunities for long-term career growth in both technical specialization and leadership
