We are seeking a Electrical Design Engineer – Nuclear Power (Direct Hire, Remote)

About the Role:

We are partnered with a top nuclear industry leader to hire a Electrical Design Engineer with direct nuclear power experience. This is a direct hire, in-house position offering full benefits, paid time off, and remote flexibility. You’ll be joining a highly respected team that works on mission-critical nuclear power projects, contributing to the safe and reliable operation of energy infrastructure across the country.

In this role, you will gain exposure to work across the nuclear fleet in the U.S., supporting multiple utilities and a wide variety of PWR and BWR reactor types. This provides engineers with unique skillsets and technical depth that are highly valued across the nuclear industry.

This position requires engineers who can operate with a high level of technical detail, precision, and autonomy while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and regulatory bodies. It’s an opportunity to take ownership of meaningful work in a field where accuracy and safety are paramount.

Major Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Design and review I&C and electrical systems (control, safety, power distribution).
  • Support digital upgrades, safety-related control systems, and post-accident monitoring
  • Perform engineering studies (load flow, short circuit, coordination, setpoint, loop uncertainty)
  • Prepare modification design packages (standard design process), technical documentation, and lifecycle plans
  • Conduct condition assessments of major electrical equipment (transformers, motors, switchgear, generators)
  • Westinghouse Common Q projects, digital I&C upgrades, ETAP software, lifecycle inspection/test program experience


Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET-accredited program
  • 2-10+ years of engineering experience in the nuclear industry (Positions to be filled based on experience)
  • Working knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations that apply to the design of nuclear power plants
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills
  • Proven ability to deliver work with a high degree of accuracy, detail, and independence
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future
